An Aspen tradition for over 40 years, let Aspen Carriage and Sleigh take you on a picture-perfect, romantic ride back in time through the historic streets of downtown Aspen courtesy of a coachman and its steed. For public town tours, reservations are not required—rather, keep an eye out on the corner of Cooper and Galena Street from 3-10 p.m. during the summer and winter seasons. When the snow starts to fall, indulge in an exhilarating open sleigh rides pulled by one of their majestic draft horses across an open field in the crisp Rocky Mountain air. Reservations are required and are offered from 1-4 p.m.

For an even more picture-perfect experience, take a horse-drawn sleigh to a gourmet alpine dinner or lunch at Aspen’s legendary Pine Creek Cookhouse —nestled deep in the Elk Mountains and worlds away from real life. Dog sledding is alive and well in Snowmass, thanks to the new owners of Krabloonik outfitters (originally founded in 1949), where 215 huskies are raring to go for a run with their mushers and guests. Post-ride, the on-site restaurant serves up lunch and dinner daily during the high season.
