Creature of Culture
In Aspen, you're never far away from cultural activities that nourish the soul. Start your day at the theater and finish it at the ballet, maybe sprinkle some Ideas in between. This itinerary is sure to nourish your mind, body, and spirit.
10am: Attend the morning Theatre Aspen performance in the theater next to Rio Grande Park. If you get there a bit early walk around the John Denver Sanctuary and Song Garden, a beautiful oasis steps from downtown Aspen.
12pm: Take in the Aspen Art Museum, (closed Mondays) and dive into a locally sourced lunch at their rooftop café, SO. Once satiated, peruse the current exhibitions and unique gift shop.
4pm: Check out the Aspen Institute or Aspen Words programming and see what is available for an afternoon of mental stimulation. If you attend any programming at the Aspen Institute, don’t miss dinner at Plato’s Kitchen; it’s rumored to have the best summer sunset views.
8pm: After dinner, the evening performance of Aspen's local contemporary ballet company, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, is the best ending to your culture rich day. All performances are held at the Aspen District Theater.
