Meet and Greet

Come and meet new friends and reunite with old friends for a gathering in the beautiful John Denver Sanctuary in Aspen Colorado.

John Denver Project Band: A Tribute to John Denver

Rocky Mountain Foundation for the Performing Arts presents a Tribute to John Denver with the John Denver Project Band from Italy along with special guest Chris Liebig.

Aspen Meadow Band: "The Early Years"

Join us as we return to the time when John got his start; the time we all remember the influence that his smile, his outlook on life, and especially his music had on our feelings. We were young, the impact of the '60s was still new, and John was a fresh breeze carrying us on to a bright future. We all remember how his lyrics articulated exactly what sometimes we could not.

New Christy Minstrels in Concert

7:00pm, Wheeler Opera House
Randy Sparks, the man who discovered superstar singer/songwriter John Denver, performs with his Grammy Award winning folk group, The New Christy Minstrels. Also performing with the group will be John's uncle, Dave Deutschendorf. The legendary ensemble will deliver its greatest hits, including "Today," "Saturday Night," "Mighty Mississippi," and "Green, Green."

All of My Memories: Our Aspen Gatherings from 1997-2017

From organizer J.P. McDaniel: The All of My Memories commemorative book and presentation can now be reserved! This is a full color book with approximately 100 pages and over 1,000 pictures and stories of the many events spanning the 20 years we have gathered in Aspen.

I Am The Eagle: Jeffrey Pine in Concert

A celebration of nature, through the timeless music of John Denver. The concert program will feature a set list of rarely performed material. Jeffrey Pine is a world class vocalist, guitarist and songwriter with a celebrated career of over three decades of live performance, song craftmanship, recording and entertainment.

Christopher Westfall "Mother Nature's Son" Concert

2:00pm, Halam Lake Nature Center
Come join Chris for a celebration of John Denver's music and nature at the beautiful Nature Center at Hallam Lake in Aspen, Colorado! This concert will highlight John Denver's music about nature and the environment, as well as supporting ACES.

Aspen Meadow Band: "In John's Own Words"

Almost all of us here have memories of hearing John live, whether in a concert setting, making a speech at one of his many symposiums, or in an intimate conversation as a friend. For 20 years now, John's voice has been silent from saying anything new, but we would like to invite you to join us in listening to John share about moments in his life interspersed with the songs those experiences inspired him to write. "In John's Own Words" promises to be a time of remembrance, reflection, and recalling the impact he had on us all.

Celebrating the life and music of John Denver, this evening will feature John's songs and personal remembrances in a more casual setting. Featuring Bill Danoff, Jim Horn, Chris Nole, Alan Deremo, Mollie Weaver, Mack Bailey, Jim Salestrom, Denny Brooks, Richie Garcie, Gary Mule Deer, Jim Curry and Gordon Lustig.
 

Friday, October 13

Susan Kaye Burke, John Denver Tribute Luncheon/Concert

Wear your favorite hat and come enjoy a delightful luncheon while singing along with tribute artist Susan K. Burke and some of her friends to her favorite songs made famous by the late great artist John Denver.

2nd Annual Singer/Songwriters Event

1:00pm, Aspen Chapel
The Singer/Songwriter event is a John Denver INSPIRED event - consisting of a small group of musicians that take the stage on a rotation and perform a song that they wrote. The performers for this year will be Mark Cormican, Mark Johnson, Brad Fitch, KJ Riemensnyder-Wagner, Ron Matthews, Roy Rivers and Chris Westfall.

Tom Becker: "Back Home Again" Concert

Tom Becker will pay tribute to the music of John Denver.

A 2 hour acousitc set sharing some of Matthews favorite songs. Come ready to sing along! Songs will include: "The Garden Song," "Flight (The Higher We Fly)," "We Don't Live Here No More," "A Song for All Lovers," and "Take Me Home, Country Roads."

20th Anniversary Musical Tribute to John Denver

The 20th anniversary celebration of the life and music of John Denver. The evenings will be full of John’s most memorable songs and as always, a bit of comedy. Featuring Bill Danoff, Jim Horn, Chris Nole, Alan Deremo, Mollie Weaver, Mack Bailey, Jim Salestrom, Denny Brooks, Richie Garcia, Gary Mule Deer, Jim Curry and Gordon Lustig.

Roy Rivers in Concert

7:30pm, Aspen Community Church
Come spend an evening with international recording star and award-winning John Denver Tribute artist, Roy Rivers! Roy had a #1 European hit with Dolly Parton with "Thank God, I'm a Country Boy" and won Vocal Duet of the Year from the European Country Music Association Awards, as well as had 6 ECMA nominations!

Great Voices Sing John Denver

1:30pm, Wheeler Opera House
Some of the greatest voices in the modern world sing many of John’s best songs, and reflect on his music and his legacy. Join conductor/composer Lee Holdridge, producer Elisa Justice, director Ken Shapiro and host Jim Curry in a live Question and Answer Session after the movie presentation.

Aspen Meadow Band: "It Still Amazes Me"

4:00pm, Limelight Hotel
Aspen Meadow Band invites you to a special evening of music that celebrates the wonder and fascination that John Denver had for other musicians and musical avenues to benefit Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. In the 1960s, with the help of Jimmy Buffet and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, John established the Deaf Camp Picnic to support Aspen Camp. He was amazed by the things they were doing with the Deaf Community
For this show, we have selected a mix of John Denver classics and songs by other artists that John was amazed by, performed with, and covered that express his wonderment with life, love of nature, helping others, and fun! These songs reflect not only John's values but some of the core values of Aspen Camp that resonated with John.

Christopher Westfall: A Musical Retrospective of John Denver

Join Chris for a unique musical retrospection of John Denver's songs. The concert will feature a mini Christmas Concert within a concert featuring John's rare and deep album cuts, as well as some unrecorded songs. Chris will also share stories and songs from the Wildlife Concert, as well as his originals in tribute to John Denver.
