A CAPELLA SUPERSTARS VOCALOSITY BRINGS “PITCH PERFECT” EXPERIENCE TO THE WHEELER
Aspen, CO (February 13, 2017) The Wheeler Opera House presents Vocalosity: The Aca-Perfect Concert Experience this Saturday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m. The show is an all-new live concert event from the creative mind of artistic producer Deke Sharon (“Pitch Perfect,” “The Sing-Off,” Broadway’s “In Transit”) that takes a cappella to a whole new level. Tickets are $25 for students and $65 for adults (Wheeler Wins pricing available) and are available now at the Wheeler Opera House Box Office (970.920.5770/ aspenshowtix.com). The Wheeler Opera House is located at 320 E. Hyman Ave., Aspen, CO.
This fast-paced production features ten dynamic voices singing some of today’s chart-topping hits in brand-new arrangements too incredible to miss. No genre of music is off limits in the world of a cappella and Vocalosity explores them all – from tenth century Gregorian chant and classical choral to barber shop quartet and bouncing doo-wop all the way to The Beatles and Bruno Mars. Combine that with movement and choreography from Sean Curran (“Stomp” original cast member) and Vocalosity presents an exhilarating evening of song unlike anything audiences have ever seen or heard, live on stage.
Vocalosity came together through the passion of music director and artistic producer Deke Sharon, and the producing team of Work Light Productions and IMG Artists. Sharon, called the “father of contemporary a cappella” by Entertainment Weekly, has built a career in a cappella as a singer, arranger, director and producer. Vocalosity is the culmination of everything he has learned over the past 20 years in this genre.
The performance team for Vocalosity includes basses James C. Jones and Bryant Vance, tenors Cheeyang Ng and RJ Woessner, altos Hannah Juliano and Nattalyee Randall, mezzo Nicole Weiss, sopranos Kelli Koloszar and Amy Whitcomb, as well as vocal percussionist Tracy L.J. Roberston.
Universal Music Classics released Vocalosity’s debut album on January 15, 2016 to coincide with the tour launch.
