The road to Maroon Bells is expected to reopen on Memorial Day weekend, making it the perfect time to cross a trip to the iconic mountains off your bucket list. Weather conditions permitting, Independence Pass is also set to reopen just in time for Memorial Day Weekend. Take a drive up this scenic route that meanders along the river and up to the Continental Divide.  While making your way up the pass, don't forget to stop and check out the Grottos, a favorite local spot known for its waterfalls and ice caves.




Aspen Activities 


This time of year has been known to bring some surprise May snowstorms, there's always the chance to get in some extra turns this weekend! 


Strap on your boots and explore the endless hiking options Aspen has to offer. Smuggler Mountain is a common favorite for those looking to get some incredible views of Aspen via a more moderate hike.


Indulge your inner athlete with some spring biking! Cruise down the Rio Grande Trail to the Woody Creek Tavern and relax with some fish tacos and margaritas.


If golf is more your style, play a round of golf at the Aspen Golf Club while enjoying the incredible mountain views and watch your game improve at high altitude.
