Earth Day in a Big Way!
Because we love exploring and preserving our beautiful mountain environment, Aspen celebrates big for Earth Day! Go Green with us and see how you can help keep Aspen sustainable.
What are you doing on Earth Day?
Join local businesses and sustainability experts in celebrating Earth Day tomorrow at Wagner Park. Stop by between 12 and 1:30 pm for food, music, giveaways, and a chance to make a pledge towards a more sustainable 2014. Local representatives from the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies, the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE), the City of Aspen, and the bike-sharing non-profit, WE-Cycle, will be there to answer all your sustainability questions.
All volunteers are more than welcome to join in for the Fryingpan River Clean Up on Saturday, April 26th in Lions Park, Basalt. Bring warm layers, a hat, and sunscreen and get ready to give back to one of our beautiful rivers! Free breakfast provided!
Recycling made Easy
In honor of Earth Day, the City of Aspen will be going even greener by implementing a single-stream recycling system! In other words, all recyclable material (i.e. cardboard, glass, plastic, newspaper) can be placed in the same container, which will then be separated when it reaches a facility outside of town. Now, you're one easy step closer to living that sustainable mountain lifestyle!
