JULY 4, 2013 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

8 a.m.       Boogie's Buddy Race, Boogie's Diner
$40 for adults, $50 race-day registration, $15 for kids under 16, $80 family rate for 1-mile walk
Celebrate the Fourth of July by running or walking to support the Buddy Program! Choose between a challenging but festive 5-mile race with cash prizes or a family and canine 1-mile walk.  Sign up online at www.buddyprogram.org or in person in front of Boogie's Diner June 30 - July 3.

10 a.m.  Kid's Bicycle Decorating, Paepcke Park
Open to kids riding bicycles in the parade

1:30 p.m.  Aspen Art Museum's FREE 4th of July Community Picnic, Aspen Art Museum
The AAM partners with a renowned contemporary artist to produce a float for Aspen's Fourth of July Parade.  The AAM's popular annual post-parade picnic takes place on the museum grounds.

A beloved tradition, this celebration brings the AMFS band to the Tent stage with stirring patriotic favorites.

 Transportation tips:

  • Parking in Aspen will be extremely limited. Ride RFTA, walk or bike for a stress-free day! Bus info is available at 970-925-8484 or at http://www.rfta.com/.
  • FREE parking will be available at the Brush Creek Park & Ride with free and frequent bus service to and from Aspen.
  • The Cross Town Shuttle will operate until approximately 11pm from June 27-July 4 to accommodate various festivities. The last departure from the Music Tent will be at 10:45pm.
  • Your bus may be rerouted during the 4th of July parade, call or check the web for more details.
  • Be sure to comply with all posted parking regulations and watch for special parking and street closures to avoid a ticket or tow.
