SPRING/SUMMER/Fall 2008
Dear Journalist,
Aspen, Colorado. The name alone conjures images of majestic mountains, outdoor adventure, healthy living, divine dining, music festivals, and exceptional shopping. To the world, Aspen means, “The Good Life.” And yes, our town has everything the good life has to offer. But we have even more. Aspen’s got soul.
We are uniquely connected to our past. We honor our local heritage, we work passionately to preserve and protect our natural surroundings. Our arts and cultural calendar rivals that of a big city, and we are proud that Aspenites can maintain their active lifestyle while also exercising their minds with music, lectures, art and theater.
To us, there is no such thing as a typical Aspen summer day. Greet every morning with a fresh outlook, a local newspaper, coffee and homemade pastries at a local bakery. Next, it’s off to the trails. Get in gear with fat tire fun on a mountain bike, get hooked with a local angler in area rivers, or tackle a Colorado “fourteener,” (peaks over 14,000 feet). Lunch options are endless, from a mountain-top meal with panoramic vistas, to burgers and beers at Little Annie’s Eating House. Or grab a gourmet picnic to go and visit the famed Maroon Bells. Afternoons are spent shopping Aspen’s many boutiques, browsing the latest exhibit at the Aspen Art Museum, or rejuvenating the body with a luxurious spa treatment. Top the day off with an al fresco dinner in downtown Aspen, a classical concert by the Aspen Music Festival & School, or partake in Aspen’s legendary nightlife.
Regardless of the story you are writing or researching, Aspen will surely fit the bill.
We look forward to telling you about our hometown, discussing story ideas, providing more detailed information, helping arrange a visit, or just giving you a local’s perspective on living in the America’s finest small town.
We are constantly getting new information about the spring/summer/fall season, and we will be updating these releases regularly. But please contact us if you are working on a story.
Sincerely,
Maureen Poschman
